Spell Shore
Terms of use
These terms apply when you download or play Spell Shore. If your child is playing, please read them as the parent or guardian: by letting your child play, you agree to them for your child. If you got Spell Shore from Apple's App Store, Apple's standard licence (the Licensed Application End User License Agreement) also applies, and where the two differ, Apple's licence wins for anything Apple requires.
Who we are
Spell Shore is made by Orion Lab Studios. Contact: orionlabstudios@gmail.com.
Your licence to play
We give you a personal, non-transferable right to install and play Spell Shore on devices you own or control, for your family's own non-commercial use. You may not copy, sell, rent or reverse-engineer the game, or extract its art, music or code.
Ads and purchases
The Android app offers optional reward videos from Google AdMob, which the player chooses to watch for a bonus or a spelling hint. Parents can switch them off on the For Parents page in the game, and they follow our privacy policy: non-personalised, and child-directed for players under 13. The first test versions may have none. There is nothing to buy in Spell Shore. Fish, coins, chests and items in the game are for play only, have no money value, and can't be exchanged for real money.
Learning
Spell Shore is designed to help children practise spelling while they play. It is a game, not a substitute for school or professional teaching, and we don't promise any particular learning result.
Your progress
Progress is saved only on the device. If the app is deleted or the device is lost, progress can't be recovered, because we don't keep a copy.
Ownership
Spell Shore, its characters (including Polly the parrot), art, music, words and code belong to Orion Lab Studios or to the people who licensed them to us. The game uses the open-source Three.js library (MIT licence) and the Poppins font (SIL Open Font Licence).
No warranty
We work hard to make Spell Shore fun and bug-free, but it is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we don't promise it will always be available, error-free, or suitable for any particular purpose.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, Orion Lab Studios is not liable for indirect or consequential losses from using the game, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for Spell Shore. Nothing here limits rights that the law says can't be limited, such as consumer rights in your country.
Changes
If we change these terms, we update the date at the top. For important changes, we tell you in the game before they apply.
